Who is this Hal Silverman, anyway?

Some pertinent (and impertinent) information.

I am a self-taught craftsman. And since forever, I have been using clay
to create works of art that do useful work.

In return, those works have brought me some unexpected recognition.
(For instance, in 2005, I became the second person to be named Artist In Residence
in the 99-year history of Temple Israel Center of White Plains, NY.)

My pieces have been exhibited and sold by The Jewish Museum in New York City,
The Vered Gallery in East Hampton NY, The Clay Art Center in Port Chester, NY
and many other prestigious galleries and shops.

But these days, I spend most of my time executing commissions for collectors.

I am happy to say, I have never been asked for my philosophy as an artist and craftsman.
If it ever happened, I would probably just point to some of my pieces and say,
Go see them. They will tell you everything you want to know.

Anyhow I hope that some day, somehow, you become one of those delightful people
who say, "I don't exactly know why, but I really like your work, Hal."
